"THE TOWN WHERE YOUR FEET MAY LEAVE, BUT NEVER YOUR HEART."

Springdale, Washington, located in Stevens
County, was founded between 1886 - 1888 by Charles O.

Squire and John Shriner, originally named "Squire City"

or "Squires City". The town grew as a logging, farming,

and mining hub after the Spokane Falls and Northern

Railway arrived in 1889. It served as a lunch stop on the

railroad between Spokane and Northport, and was

officially incorporated in 1903. In 1908, devastating fire

destroyed most of the business district, but through

many years of hard work and community efforts it was

able to rebuild into the beautiful town we know and

love today.
